Lynn V. Payne, 86, of Camanche passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025 at MercyOne-Clinton.
Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lynn Vernon Payne was born on October 2, 1938 in New Mexico, the son of Jay and Hazel (Harrison) Payne. He owned and operated Payne & Associates working as a plumber and pipefitter until his retirement in 2015. He married Joy VanHouten and cherished his marriage for 57 years. He enjoyed spending time in his garage and tinkering with tractors.
He is survived by his wife Joy Payne of Camanche; children: Randy Payne and Reggie Payne both of Albuquerque, New Mexico and daughter Cara (Philip) Barefield of Camanche; two grandchildren: Ashley and Morgan; seven great grandchildren; and one brother Bob (Sharon) Payne of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Toby Payne and granddaughter Nicole McNelis.
