Lucille L. Petersen's Obituary
Lucille L. Petersen, 89, of Clinton, passed away, Monday, August 29, 2016 at Mercy Living Center – South.
Funeral Mass will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church – Clinton. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Serving as pallbearers will be David Christoff, Wade Fallesen, Brian Fallesen, Ernie Bratcher, Terry Mussmann, Raymond Byam, Tristin Byam, David Byam, Dan Byam, Ron Flemming, and Jim Bowling. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until the service hour at the church. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Lucille L. Jost was born March 2, 1927 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Theresa (Franzen) Jost. She was married to Lester Petersen; he preceded her in death.
Lucille was a 1945 graduate of Mt. St. Clare High School. She worked for Swiss Colony for many years. She also worked for Nielsen’s, was the manager at Wonder Bread, and was the manager and secretary for Island City Harbor for over 20 years. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish – Clinton.
She enjoyed vacationing in Boca Raton, Florida and attended the Indianapolis 500 numerous times. She also loved weekend rides whether it be in a car or a boat, spending time with her grandkids, and she really took a shine to her sweet pea Rhiannon, teaching her the ways of Gramma Luci.
She is survived by three sons: Richard (Swade) Byam of Clinton, Dan (Judy) Byam of Clinton and David Byam of Clinton; 8 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband and two sons: Michael and Patrick King.
