Lucille G. Cooper's Obituary
Lucille G. Cooper, 74, of Clinton passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Generations at Rock Island – Rock Island, Illinois.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, September 25, 2020 at the CAMANCHE Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Freking, Kevin Freking, Kenneth Freking, Freddie Straw, Heath Cooper, and Chuck Wolever. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the CAMANCHE Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
Lucille Gay Stevens was born May 18, 1946 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Dee and Mary (Nelson) Stevens. She was a 1964 graduate of Clinton High School. She married John Cooper on May 22, 1967 in Clinton, Iowa. She attended Beauty School at the Clinton Academy. She was a hair dresser, worked at Clinton Garment Company and for Burpee.
She was a member of the Baptist Church in LeMars, Iowa. She enjoyed knitting, making silk flower arrangements and spending time with her family and friends.
Lucille is survived by her husband John Cooper of Clinton; two children: Scott (Maria) Cooper of Topeka, Kansas and Ginger Cooper of Topeka, Kansas; seven grandchildren; JayDee Cooper, Sierra Manis, Michelle Cooper, Brittany Cooper, Melissa Cooper, Michael Cooper, Bianca Cooper; plus three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son William Dee Cooper and two sisters Ida Joyce Stevens and Marilyn Dee Freking.
