Lowell B. Ytzen's Obituary
Lowell B. Ytzen, 90, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Mercy Living Center North, Clinton.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7:00 pm Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. A 7:00 PM Masonic Blue Lodge service will conclude the visitation. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery, with full Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Jim Haas, Bruce Christiansen, Bob Wede, Jerry Henry, Randy Schmidt and Patrick Ytzen. Honorary pallbearers will be Erika Wilson and Christopher Ytzen.

Lowell was born September 16, 1924 in Swaledale, Iowa, the son of Christian and Caroline (Swensen) Ytzen. He was a 1942 Swaledale High School graduate. He married Nunzia A. Calabrese on July 29, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa; she died September 2, 2011.
He was self-employed and owned and operated the Clinton Auto Radiator Company for more than 42 years retiring in 1988.
Lowell was a WWII US Navy veteran and was more than a 50 year member of the American Legion. He was a 50 year member of Emulation Lodge, was a member and active at the YMCA and Y’s Men, he was a 411 volunteer Fire Department for more than 25 years, was a member and past vice president of Jaycees, the Isaac Walton League, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Bickel of Bolingbrook, IL; son, Charles M. (Karen) Ytzen of Schaumberg, IL; grandchildren, Christopher Ytzen, Erika Wilson and Patrick Ytzen; great-grandchildren, Aidan Wilson and Natalie Wilson and his sister, Iona Ray of Livermore, CA.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
