Lorraine M. Steines, 93, of Clinton passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025 at the Alverno Senior Care Center - Clinton.
All funeral related events will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton, IA. Visitation: 9:30-11:00 AM. Funeral Service: 11:00 AM. Luncheon: 12:00. Interment: 2:00 PM at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers: Tim, Matt, and Wyatt Struve, Lucas Steines and Jeff Palmer, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are: Khaos, Avery Jo and Brayden Struve, Kaitlynn, Hannah, Bradley, Kayleigh and Tyler Palmer.

Lorraine Marilyn Lingel was born March 10, 1932, Perkins Co., South Dakota, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Otten) Lingel. She graduated from Spragueville/Preston Community Schools.
She married Lloyd Steines on October 10, 1953 in Davenport, Iowa; he preceded her in death in 1996. Lorraine was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton, IA and involved in many activities: Ruth Circle, Kids Against Hunger, Quilter Circle and Christian service.
She was superintendent and a teacher for Sunday school and vacation Bible school. She also supervised the dining room for the annual sauerkraut supper for over 30 years. She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren to sew, crochet, and crafting with at-hand materials.
She loved babysitting grandchildren and provided in-home daycare for many years. She was a gifted lady in her service to people. She loved gardening, raising flowers and vegetables and taught all her kids to swim.
She is survived by her four children: Pamela (James) Perron, Paul (Cheryl) Steines, Peggy (Mike) Mangelsen all of Clinton and Perry (Rhonda) Steines; five grandchildren: Tim and Matt Struve and Jennifer, Lucas and Tony Steines; 12 great grandchildren; her niece Suzie Manning, and several local nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, twin brother Wayne Lingel, his wife Mary; sister: Charlene Lingel; and daughter-in-law Cathleen Steines. Memorials may be made to Clinton Zion Lutheran Church for Sunday School.
