Loretta Petersen's Obituary
Loretta M. Petersen, 82, of Clinton, died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Mercy Living Center, North Clinton. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30am, Friday, February 5, 2010 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Loretta Mary Banowetz was born on June 19, 1927 in rural Clinton County, Iowa, the daughter of William and Magdelena (Zeiser) Banowetz. Loretta farmed in her early years, later working for Clinton Engines in Maquoketa, National Lock in Savanna, Drives, and Food Bonanza. Loretta was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, a former member of the Women of the Moose, and the Eagles Club. Loretta is survived by four daughters: Darlene (Corben) DeKoster of Hampton, Illinois, Sandra (Bob) Simon of Magnolia, Kentucky, Joyce (Glenn) Devereaux of Clinton, Iowa, and Linda (Dennis) Hook of Morrison, Illinois; one son: David (Laurie) Jacobs of Bellevue, Iowa; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren and special friends and caregivers: Judy Kasterke, Lisa Petersen, and the wonderful staff at Mercy Medical Center North. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, two sisters, and two brothers. The family requests that memorials be made to Mercy Living Center, North.
