Loretta Morris' Obituary
Loretta C. Morris, 93, of Clinton died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at home. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, July 24, 2010 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cory Olson, James Severns, David Geltz, Jeffrey Head, and Chelsie Morris. Loretta Catherine Boock was born on April 10, 1917 in rural Clinton County, the daughter of John and Emma (Lapinski) Boock. She married Alvin Morris on November 20, 1942 in Clinton; he died on October 19, 1986. Loretta was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of Royal Neighbors of America and was a member of several bowling leagues. She was a past member and was very active with the PTA at Irving Elementary School. She was a loyal Cubs fan, liked playing bingo, and enjoyed reading Western novels. She is survived by her five children: Judith (Gaye) Marr of Nevada, Ronald G. Morris of Davenport, IA, James A. Morris of East Moline, IL, Margaret Morris of Clinton, and Sharon R. Morris of Clinton; 6 grandchildren: Scott and Chelsie Morris, James Severns, Tiffany and Sean Marr, and Gaye Marr III; several great grandchildren; one sister: Esther Todtz of Camanche, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and two sisters. Memorials may be made to the family.
