Loren Simpson's Obituary
Loren T. “Jr” Simpson, 85, of Camanche died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clinton. Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the Clinton Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Tuesday at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Private burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Loren Thomas Simpson was born on April 10, 1925 in Norwood, IL, the son of Thomas Moore and Florence Alma (Bates) Simpson. He graduated from Council Bluff School for the Deaf. He married Emmaline Williams on August 12, 1946 in Clinton. He was employed with Clinton Foods for 32 years until his retirement in 1981. He was later employed with Big River Packaging. He was a member of the Clinton Church of Christ for many years. He was a Deacon at the church, and also founded their Deaf Ministries program which is still in effect today. Loren was a very loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking, and gardening. He is survived by his wife Emma of Camanche; 6 children: Linda (Bernie) Klinedinst of Three Oaks, MI, Robert (Kathy) Simpson of Morrison, IL, Donna (Mark) Potter of Preston, IA, Lori (Jerry) Gravert of Camanche, David (Kerri) Simpson of Carrolton, TX, and Sandra (Paul) Roy of Clinton; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Hilton Simpson, and two sisters, Rosella Madsen and Paulina Hollister. Memorials may be made to the Clinton Church of Christ.
