Loren Redman's Obituary
Loren R. “Zeke” Redman, 85, of Clinton, died Sunday, May 17, 2009 at his home. Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Ron Lott officiating. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be the Geritol Gang: Lefty Ward, Kenny Milder, Whitey Jensen, Gene Otto, Gail Ryner, and Lee Thompson. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Loren Robert Redman was born on September 4, 1923 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Robert and Rosetta (Weber) Redman. He married Ramona Young on February 4, 1951 in Clinton. Loren was a 1943 graduate of Clinton High School. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Loren was employed with DuPont for 36 years, retiring as a powerhouse shift supervisor. Loren was a member of the Western Star Lodge #100 AF & AM, Clinton Scottish Rite Bodies, a member of the Geritol Gang, enjoyed his morning coffee group at Krumpets, and enjoyed attending the DesRon 52 (destroyer in WWII) reunions. Loren is survived by his wife: Ramona of Clinton; three daughters: Carol (Paul) Gilotty of Dover, Delaware, Chere (Nick) Miller of Clinton, and Connie Schmitz of Clinton; two sons: Mark Redman of Pflugerville, Texas, and Michael (Tami) Redman of Clinton; 10 grandchildren: Aaron (Izzy) Miller, Kevin Miller, Brad (Kristen) Miller, Jeff Miller, Nathan (Vanessa) Ashton, Tyrone Ashton, Richard (Nickie) Schmitz, Jr., Ryan (Jen) Schmitz, Apryl Schmitz, Adrienne Redman, Tyler Redman, and Jared Redman, and three great-grandchildren: Elissa and Cameron Miller, and Lanie Schmitz. Loren is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Mercy Hospice, Mercy Dialysis, or CHS Restoring Royalty.
