Loren Peterson's Obituary
Loren Peterson, 81, of Camanche passed away, Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at the Citadel of Sterling.
Services will be 1:00pm, Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory with military honors to conclude the services by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. Loren Peterson was born on October 14, 1942 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, the son of Lloyd and Alice (Thompson) Peterson. He was a 1960 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Janet Sharp on August 2, 1964 in Clinton.
Loren served in the United States Navy for 16 years prior to working at Equistar as a Lab Tech for many years retiring in 1997. He loved to play card games especially cribbage and pinochle. He also thoroughly enjoyed playing chess, especially with his son or his brother. He and his wife later attended and graduated from Charis Bible College in Kenosha in 2015.
Loren is survived by his wife: Janet of Camanche; two children: Tracy (Bryan) Witt of Streamwood, Illinois, and Kevin (Amanda) Peterson of Clinton, Iowa; his brother: Dallas (Margaret) Peterson of Camanche; and his sister: Lynne (Paul) Hill of Morristown, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Adeline (Frank) Humlick.
