Lola Jean Hesse's Obituary
Lola J. Hesse, 87, of Clinton passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Alverno - Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 6:00 pm, Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the service time at the funeral home. Lola Jean Miller was born May 21, 1935 in Hamburg, Iowa, the daughter of Fred Duane and Mary Charlotte (Wolf) Miller. She was a 1952 graduate of Hamburg High School. She married Galen Hesse on May 3, 1953 in Rudd, Iowa; he preceded her in death in 2002.
Lola worked as a cook for 40 years at various places including Sarah Harding Home, Mt St. Clare College and at the Canticle. She enjoyed time spent at playing bingo at the Moose and trips to the Casino. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Leonard (Jenny) Hesse of Camanche, Cheryl (David) Miller of Clinton, Kathryn (Neal) Beyer of Clinton, Michael (Jill) Hesse of Albany, Illinois, Nancy Jo (Dan) Smith of Fulton, Illinois, Rosalind Potter of Fulton, Illinois and Kevin (Judy Schaley) Hesse of Clinton; fifteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, four brothers, daughter-in-law Mary Potter and son-in-law Steve Shadle.
