Lois L. Schroeder's Obituary
Lois L. Schroeder, 90, of Clinton passed away Monday, January 1, 2024 at her home in Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Benjamin Merritt, Nathan Schroeder, Todd Merritt, Glenn Zullo, Mariah Schroeder and David Schroeder. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 pm Friday evening at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Lois LaVonne Sillmann was born January 4, 1933, on a farm near DeWitt, Iowa. She was the daughter of Emma (Krukow) and Carl Sillmann. She went to country school and then graduated from Welton High School. She married Darrell Schroeder on October 24, 1954 at Grace Lutheran Church in DeWitt. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1977.
Lois worked for Montgomery Wards, Pillsburg Mills, Nielsen Clearing, Howoc and promotion fulfillment corp. She was active in Franklin School PTA, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She served for many years as the secretary to Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid where she was a long-time member. She enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, flowers and gardening. She enjoyed ballroom dancing but more than anything she loved time spent with her family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children: David (Maria) Schroeder of Clinton, Debra (Glenn) Zullo of San Diego, California and Brenda (Todd) Merritt of Clinton, three grandchildren: Benjamin Merritt, Mariah Schroeder and Nathan Schroeder; and one great grandchild Cayden Craig.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband and special friend Richard Pierson.
