Lois E. Haring's Obituary
Lois E. Haring, 100, of Clinton passed away Monday, May 5, 2025 at The Alverno - Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Peasley, Jon Hagenson, Jeff Peasley, Shawn Mahoney, Jeff Jewell and John Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Janis Lind, Jerry K. Ross, Cindy Boekeloo, Candy Carter, MJ Schutte, Jessica Carbajal, Cina Lessard, Nikita Graham, Kinzie Kasterke, Heather Parker and all the staff from the Alverno and Hospice Care. Lois E. Hagenson was born on October 11, 1924 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Gustave and Hazel (Biery) Hagenson.She was a 1942 graduate of Clinton High School and was active in Pollywogs. She was married to Alvin Lienau from 1945 - 1973; he died on March 30, 1990. Together they had three children. She married Vernal Haring on September 1, 1979; he preceded her in death on July 7, 2001.
Lois worked at Collis Company and then as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Paul Hagenson for more than 20 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton where she was very active in the Ladies Aide Society and also volunteered at Hospice of Clinton for many years. She was a member of the American Business Women Association. She loved playing cards and being part of many card clubs; she enjoyed quilting, making dolls, sewing, knitting, crocheting, baking, canning and cooking. She was an enthusiastic Abraham Lincoln follower and an ardent Iowa Hawkeye sports fan. She was an avid traveler throughout North America, Europe and the Caribbean and always enjoyed visiting her children.
She is survived by two children: Dr. Maureen Lienau of Denver, Colorado and Dr. Chistopher (Cheryl) Lienau of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandchildren: Alison and Jessica Lienau; and two great grandchildren: Sloane and Christian. Lois was preceded in death by one daughter: Kathleen Robbins, three brothers: Ernie, Eugene and Paul Hagenson, two sisters: Helen Sorensen and Esther Peasley and her parents.
