Lloyd Pebsworth's Obituary
Lloyd W. Pebsworth, 75, of Morris, Illinois, formerly of Clinton, Iowa and Troup, Texas died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Morris Community Hospital – Morris, Illinois. Funeral Services will be 1:00pm, Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Clinton. Serving as pallbearers will be Rex Pebsworth, David Debold, Samuel Debold, Gary Soenksen, Gregg Soenksen and Virtus Scott. Visitation will be from 11:00am to the service time at the funeral home on Saturday. Lloyd Wayne Pebsworth was born on August 14, 1935 in Jacksonville, Texas the son of Lloyd S. and Corinne (Webb) Pebsworth. In 1955, he married and later divorced Doyce Laverne Harmer, the mother of his children. He married his beloved wife of 29 years, Monna Soenksen, on November 22, 1982 in Tyler, Texas. Lloyd was a chemical engineer with Chemplex in Clinton for many years before being transferred to Morris where he retired in 1993 from Lyondell in Morris where he served as a senior research scientist. He attended the University of Houston, Texas A&M and graduated from Troup High School in Troup, Texas where he spent his boyhood. Lloyd was a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and an advanced master gardener certified by the Horticulture Gardening Institute and specialized in roses. He was a woodworker and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and had a special interest in birdwatching and bird dogs, especially his beloved springer spaniel, Casey. Lloyd is survived by his wife: Monna of Morris, Illinois; three daughters: Vicky (David) Debold of Oakton, Virginia, Terri Pebsworth of Taipei, Taiwan, and Paula (Keith Riggle) Pebsworth of Japan; one son: Rex (Rachel) Pebsworth of Grimes, Iowa, and six grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, a step-son: Richard Collins and a grandson: Anthony Pebsworth. Memorials in lieu of flowers can be made to the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or Joliet Area Community Hospice.
