Lita M. Miller's Obituary
Lita M. Miller, 91, of Clinton passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021 at her home in Clinton.
A Celebration of Lita’s life will begin at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory followed by a meal and fellowship in her honor at the funeral home. Private burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Steven & Greg Snyder, Jim Proud, Mike Peters and Nick Proud. Lita Mae Snyder was born February 8, 1930 on the family farm in Jones County, Iowa, the daughter of Dillon and Martien (Kriete) Snyder. She was a graduate of Lost Nation High School. She married Daryl Miller on December 31, 1948; he preceded her in death on March 16, 2005.
Lita was a long time member of the Clinton Horsemen Association, the Fulton Saddle Club and the Clinton Trailblazer Drill Team. She and Daryl enjoyed horseback riding and camping with their horses. Lita was a farm girl and raised, rode and drove horses. Having been born during the Great Depression meant farming and still using horse power to farm with because before WWII tractors were scarce.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Miller Proud and husband James Proud of Clinton; grandson Nick Proud and wife Stephanie of North Liberty, Iowa; two great grandchildren: Ainsley and Kellan Proud; nephews: Steven (Belinda) Snyder and Gregory (Linda) Snyder.
Lita was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother Milton Snyder and his wife Mabel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the enhancing cancer research at the University of Iowa.
