Lillie Mae Hemphill's Obituary
Lillie Mae Hemphill, 86, of Clinton, Iowa and formerly of St. Charles, Illinois, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 at Mercy Living Center South in Clinton.
Services will be at held 3 PM Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 1 PM to 3 PM Thursday at the funeral Home. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, St. Charles, Illinois on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 11 AM.
Lillie was born May 18, 1928 in Elkmont, Alabama, the daughter of Lester and Clara Mae (Clem) Nichols. She married Bryant Hemphill on March 7, 1946 in Alabama; he preceded her in death on October 14, 1965.
Lillie was employed in housekeeping at Delnor Hospital in St. Charles for many years.
She is survived by her children, Jo Ann “Jody” (Paul) Miller of Clinton; Wade (Babette) Hemphill of Clinton and Carol (Stan) Gordon of St. Charles, IL; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and brother, Frank Nichols of Wayne, MI.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Son, Samuel, two brothers and three sisters.
