Lillian G. Vining's Obituary
Lillian G. Vining, 97 of Peoria, Arizona, formerly of Clinton, Iowa, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Hospice of the Valley in Glendale, Arizona.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Visitation will be from 9:30am to the service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Roseland, Jessica Vining, Erik Vining, Erin Vining, Kaelin Yeates, and Griffin Roseland.
Lillian Gladys Schroeder was born on April 12, 1925 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Dora (Benson) Schroeder. She was a 1943 graduate of Clinton High School. She married James E. Vining on December 11, 1943 in Syracuse, New York; he passed away April 7, 1998.
Lillian was employed at Petersen Harned Von Maur and also the City Assessors Office.
Lillian was a member of Zion Lutheran Church- Clinton and Peace Lutheran Church – Peoria, Arizona; former member of Valley Oaks Country Club and the Fulton Country Club. She also volunteered with Mercy Hospital Auxiliary.
Lillian enjoyed gardening, golf, camping, reading, vacationing in their motor home, & spending time with her kids & extended family.
Lillian is survived by her children: Diane Roseland, James (Devra) Vining II MD, and Richard (Mary) Vining; 5 grandchildren: Jeff, Jessica, Erik, Erin, & Kaelin, 3 step-grandchildren: Shannon, Jenna, & Amiee, and numerous great grandchildren; and her sister: Donna (Gary) Mulholland. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by son-in-law: Richard Roseland, her sisters: Dorothy, Luella and Deloris, and her brother: Hobart.
Memorials in lieu of flowers can be made to the Shriners Hospital or the MS Foundation.
