LeRoy R. Pfeifle's Obituary
LeRoy R. Pfeifle, 90, of Clinton passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Park Vista Retirement Home in Camanche.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors being rendered by the United States Army. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.
LeRoy Reuben Pfeifle was born July 27, 1932 in Venturia, North Dakota, the son of Julius and Adele (Graff) Pfeifle. He served in the United States Army from 1954-1956 and went on the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities in September 2015 with his daughter Kim as his guardian. He married Alva Eisenbeis on September 17, 1964; she preceded him in death on December 30, 1995. LeRoy worked at Clinton Corn for 45 years when he retired.
He was an avid Hawkeye and Cubs fan. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, he enjoyed fishing and gardening and taking his grandchildren to sporting events and out for dinner and lunch.
LeRoy is survived by his children: Kim (Tom) Stuer of Camanche and DeAnna (John) Dermody of Clive, Iowa, Ed (Julie) Sukut of Clinton, Carol Aude of DeWitt, Al Sukut of Arlington, Virginia, DeRaye (Steve) Hansen of Kirksville, Missouri, Deb Kougias of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, Renee (Floyd) Steines of Clinton, Rhea Herch of Clinton and Russ (Karla) Sukut of Ankeny, Iowa; twenty grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and one due to arrive in May 2023; and siblings: Myron Pfeifle of Bismark, North Dakota and Kenny Pfeifle of Fargo, North Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sisters, three brothers, two great grandchildren; and three sons-in-law: Denny Kougias, Larry Aude and Mark Herch.
Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church or the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
