LeRoy Lemke's Obituary
LeRoy F. Lemke, 72, of Camanche died Saturday, July 11, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30am Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the funeral. LeRoy Francis Lemke was born on November 23, 1936 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, the son of Roy F. and Marie (Herzog) Lemke. He married Linda Leeper on May 20, 2000 in Clinton. LeRoy had been employed with Bowman motors in Rock Falls, IL for 10 years, and owned and operated Lemke Repair Center in Sterling, IL for 20 years. He had also been previously employed as a security supervisor with the Mississippi Belle II. He was a huge racecar fan, and enjoyed building and racing cars at various raceways. He is survived by his wife Linda of Camanche; one son, John Stiles of Fulton; one grandson, John Stiles Jr. of Fulton; one granddaughter Lynette Stiles of Clinton; 3 sisters, Cynthia (Douglas) Steltenpohl and Susan (Steven) Hartleban both of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and Sheryl (Charles) Hodge of Nekoosa, WI; 2 brothers, Jerome (Beverley) Lemke of Spearfish, SD and Lonnie Lemke. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Julie Roth, one brother, Butch Lemke, and a special brother and sister in law, Loran and Elaine Leeper. Memorials may be made to the family.
