Leora Morris' Obituary
Leora L. Morris, 96, of Sun City Center, FL, formerly of Clinton, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in Sun City Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the service time. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Leora L. Wehrli was born on December 3, 1911 in Thompson, NE, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Groathouse) Wehrli. She was a 1930 graduate of Fairbury High School. She married Claude W. Morris on September 19, 1931 in Fairbury, NE and celebrated 72 years of marriage before he passed away on December 12, 2003. She was a substitute teacher for Clinton schools for many years, retiring in 1972. She also ran a home based business as a Vivienne Woodard consultant after her retirement. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church, and was a former member of the Ladies Railroad Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing the organ, working around the garden and nursing sick and injured animals back to health. She was a generous and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her only son, Gary Morris, and wife Marcia McGovern Morris, of Sun City, FL; one granddaughter, Mary Morris Rubley, and husband Terry, of Valrico, FL; one grandson, Robb Morris, and wife Kerry, of Kennesaw, GA; two great-grandsons, Tyler and Travis Rubley of Valrico, FL; and one great-granddaughter, Kaylee Morris of Kennesaw, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters, and her husband Claude. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
