Leonard T. Porter's Obituary
Leonard T. Porter, 63, of Camanche passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Illinois.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Friday, October 22, 2021 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be his niece and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes.
Leonard Thomas Porter was born December 27, 1957 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Alvin and Beverly (Walker) Porter. He was a 1977 graduate of Camanche High School. He married Kathy Hendren on November 29, 1980 in Folletts, Iowa.
Leonard owned and operated Porter’s Convenient Store in Clinton for many years; retiring in 2000. Once he sold the convenient store he owned and operated Home Maintenance and more. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Camanche.
Leonard is survived by his wife Kathy Porter of Camanche; two children: Chris McDanel of Camanche and Cheryl (Scott) Booth of Camanche; daughter-in-law: Shanna Skubal of Camanche; four grandchildren: Devyn (Aubrey) Booth, Courtney (Clayton) Carter, Kane McDanel and Wes McDanel all of Camanche; one great grandson: Ezrah Booth; siblings: Darryl (Deliah) Blinkinsop of Clinton, Karm Paysen of Calamus, Iowa, Sonija (Steve) Schroeder of Calamus, Iowa, Gene (Brenda) Dannatt of Bald Knob, Arkansas and Connie Bowers of Russellville, Arkansas.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Robert Jewell.
Memorials may be made to Camanche First Baptist Church.
