LaVerne C. Wiese Sr., 82, of Clinton died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Mercy Living Center-South in Clinton. Private graveside services will be held at the Elmwood Cemetery in DeWitt, IA. LaVerne Carl Albert Wiese Sr. was born on January 18, 1927 in Morrison, IL, the son of Henry and Anna (Hammer) Wiese. He was a forklift driver for many years with the former Central Steel Company. He is survived by his 4 children: LaVerne Wiese Jr. of Clinton, Cindy Neal of Rock Falls, IL, Anna (Edwin) Burmeister of Clinton and Randy Wiese of Davenport, IA; 2 sisters: Violetta Haley of Keswick, IA, and Darlene Darlington of Arlington, TX; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 brothers and sisters.
