Laura Jane Turner's Obituary
Laura Jane Turner, 81, of Clinton, passed away, Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center – North Campus.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Clinton. Entombment will be in the Clinton Lawn Mausoleum. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Wagner, Warren Smith, Jeff Glendenning, Ted Mann, Greg Soenksen, and Gary Soenksen. Serving as a honorary pallbearer will be Jim Bousman. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.
Laura Jane Turner was born on February 11, 1934 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of George and Cecile (Jamison) Turner. She was a 1952 graduate of Lyons High School.
Laura Jane also attended interior design school in Chicago, Illinois, however her life’s work was dedicated to the family business at Turner Electric. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and was well known for taking many photographs. Laura Jane will be greatly missed by all and remembered as a very sweet and giving person.
Laura Jane is survived by her brother: Charlie (Voda) Turner of Clinton; nieces and nephew: Terry (Dayna) Turner of Clinton, Beth (Susie Funk) Turner of Clinton, and Aleshia (Ed) Bartles of Clinton, great-nieces and great-nephews: Erin (Justin Soenksen) Turner, Casey (Emily) Turner, Christian Handy, Isaac Handy, Noah Handy, Elijah Neblung, and Gabriel Mosell; step-great-nephews: Jason Halberg and J.D. (Tina) Halberg; great-great nieces and nephews: Cody (Makayla) Allison, Sophie Soenksen, and Stella Soenksen; and her special friend and caretaker from Priarie Hills: Leslie and her daughter: Jordyn.
Laura Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her brother: Don Turner, her niece: Sandy Turner, and her great-niece: Chantele Ladd.
Memorials can be made to the family to donate a lawn tractor to the Prairie Pastures Dog Park.
