Larry J. Andersen's Obituary
Larry J. Andersen, 72, of Clinton, passed away Friday, June 12, 2020 at his home.
Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be John Giunta, Nick Giunta, Neal Andersen, Mike Andersen, Brad Thomas, and Craig Ketelsen. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.
Larry John Andersen was born on November 1, 1947 in Savanna, Illinois, the son of Arnold and Vera (Rohwedder) Andersen. He was a 1965 graduate of Northeast High School. He married Constance “Connie” McClimon on August 15, 1969 in Clinton; she passed away July 22, 2018.
Larry was employed with Purina for 37 ½ years retiring in 2010. He enjoyed following Hawkeye football and the Cubs. He was affectionally known as Uncle Larry by many people. He was an avid biker and rode in RAGBRAI for over 30 years.
Larry is survived by his three daughters: Dana (Shannon) Spooner of Clinton, Melissa (James) Grossman of Chicago, and Angela Andersen of Clinton; his grandson: Logan Spooner; his brother: Randy (Darlene Bargman) Andersen of Phoenix, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, and one sister.
