LaLonnie R. VenHuizen's Obituary
LaLonnie R. VenHuizen, 72, of Clinton passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Mercy Living Center South – Clinton.
A Celebration of Life will be from 3:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Clinton Eagle’s Club. Private Graveside services are taking place at the St. Irenaeus Cemetery – Clinton. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is honored to serve the VenHuizen Family.
LaLonnie Rae Langfitt was born July 15, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Maxine (Hartz) Langfitt. She attended Clinton Community Schools. She married Ralph VenHuizen, Jr. on December 11, 1976 in Clinton, Iowa; he preceded her in death on May 14, 1998.
LaLonnie was a homemaker for many years of her life. She also managed and bartended at Joe’s Tavern in Clinton from 1972 until the late 1980’s. One of her greatest joys in life was her six granddaughters. The girls were a guaranteed way to bring a smile to her face. She was an avid Cubs fan, even when they were not winning, LaLonnie was very excited to see them win the World Series. She also enjoyed different crafting projects over the years. Her children now cherish those projects she made for them.
She is survived by her four children: Dawn (Jamie) Wolfe of Myakka, Florida, Kurt (Margaret Phillips) Charnoski of Clinton, Sherry (Steve) Orte of Clinton and Robert (Autumn) VenHuizen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; six grandchildren: Stephenie, Jacey, Lainey, Sophia, Hailey and Harper.
LaLonnie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother and two sister.
