L. John Sievers' Obituary
L. John Sievers, 80, of Camanche formerly of Clinton passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025 at MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. A memorial service will immediately follow at 1pm at the same location. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Honorary
pallbearers include his grandchildren: Grace Smyth, Will Smyth, Owen Smyth, & Samantha Cerasani.
Lowell John Sievers was born September 30, 1944 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Lowell and Norma (Christensen) Sievers. He was a 1962 graduate of Miles High School and attended the University of Nebraska. He worked in the research lab at ADM for over 40 years. John married
Connie Knerl on December 28, 1970 in Ponca, Nebraska.
John was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting or fishing with family and friends. He loved a good cup of decaf coffee or a nice amber ale. He enjoyed talking with friends or catching up with family whenever he could.
Most of all, John was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
John will be deeply missed by his wife Connie Sievers of Clinton; two daughters: Sarah (Eric) Smyth of Park City, Utah and Marty (James) Cerasani of Elmhurst, Illinois; grandchildren: Grace, Will and Owen Smyth and Samantha Cerasani; siblings: David (Rosemary) Sievers of
Miles, Iowa, Janie (John) Moody of Corvallis, Oregon, Susan (Terry) Farrow of Pendleton, Oregon and Paul (Renda) Sievers of Clinton, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jim Sievers.
