Kenneth L. Shaw, 93, of Clinton formerly of Camanche, passed away, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at his home at Sarah Harding.
Funeral Services will be 12:00pm, Monday March 26, 2018 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church – Camanche. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS. Visitation will be from 11:00am to the service time at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Timmer, Dan Timmer, Jeff Manjoine, Jeff Shaw, and Justin Schlader. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family. Kenneth L. Shaw was born on May 9, 1924 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Hugh and Marie (Andeway) Shaw. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1942. He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1943-1946. He married Jane B. Fahr on August 31, 1946 in Nashua, Iowa; she passed away January 16, 2016.
Kenneth was the postmaster of the Camanche Post Office for 27 years before retiring in 1983/ He was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, Camanche VFW, NARFE, enjoyed collecting stamps, pocket billiards, collecting antiques, and fishing.
Kenneth is survived by one daughter, Dorinda (Gary) Haines of Camanche; one son, Richard E. Shaw of Muscatine, Iowa; five grandchildren: Doug (Sarah)Timmer, Dan (Charlotte) Timmer, Sarah (Jeff) Manjoine, Jeff Shaw, and Ashley (Justin) Schlader, and 10 great grandchildren, one sister: Marilyn Hightower of Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one grandson, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
