I have been having a difficult time dealing with the loss of Ken. I still can't come to grips with it. Ken was a very dear friend and, as others have said, a very positive force in the lives of others. I remember when I was in 6th grade and came home for lunch one day and told my mom we had a new kid in class. It was Ken and we have been close friends ever since. After I moved away, every time I came to Clinton to visit, I couldn't wait to visit him at the hospital and/or his house to catch up and discuss current events. Ken will be missed greatly by all who knew him. My dad, who was known for giving people nicknames, would call him "CARB" (a mix of the term carbon dioxide and Doxsee). Sort of a strange name but it became a term of endearment within our family. I extend my deepest sympathy to Ken's family and all who mourn his loss.

Just heard the news about Ken's passing and I am so very sorry. Ken has been
a long time friend and although I haven't seen him in years he was the guy you could
pick right up where you left off years ago. He will surely be missed by many. Sincere
condolences to his family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I didn't know Ken nearly as well as the other members of the Gang did but it didn't matter. He was funny, I liked to laugh and we both had a keen interest even at that tender age in beer.
I like many,many other people was fortunate to have Ken take care of my parents in their last days and it was not till 2003 that i was able to thank him. It was the last time I saw him. Death is the the ultimate human denominator that is understood by all. Ken left a mark of compassion by all accounts.

Deepest sympathy to Ken's family and friends. I was a nurse at Mercy and worked with Ken for many years. He was a hard worker and always cool in a crisis. While I don't think babies were his favorite sized patient, he always gave his best and was kind and compassionate.
