Kenneth L. Dann's Obituary
Kenneth L. Dann, 88, of Camanche passed away Friday, July 21, 2023 at Unity Point Hospital in Rock Island.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Monday, July 24, 2023 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. The family requests people to wear casual clothing or St. Louis Cardinals clothing to honor Kenneth. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandchildren Jaime, Danniel, Kennady, Beau, Mike and Hannah. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 (noon) until 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Kenneth Lloyd Dann was born December 13, 1934 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Alva and Velma (Sinkey) Dann. He attended Camanche School and served in the United States Army in the 11th Airborne from 1954-1957. He married Myrna Petersen on May 31, 1958 in Camanche, Iowa.
Ken worked for Clinton Corn for 27 years, Central Steel for a number of years and then for Economy Coating until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, golfing and stock car racing. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. More than anything Ken loved his family and spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Myrna of Camanche; two daughters: Barb (Steve) Kooi of Camanche and Joni (Charly) Bigwood of Camanche; grandchildren: Jaime (Mike) McGarry of Camanche, Danniel (Hannah) Kooi of Camanche, Kennady Bigwood of Camanche and Beau Bigwood of Camanche, great grandchildren: Karley McGarry, Jordan McGarry, Avaree Warren, Colt Kooi and Barrett Kooi; siblings: Beverly Courts of Meza, Arizona, Janice Hilgendorf of Camanche and many nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Brynn Bigwood, and two sisters Marilyn and Shirley Dann.
