Kay F. Rogers' Obituary
Kay F. Rogers, 78 of Camanche, passed away, Monday, July 21, 2025 at the Alverno, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery- Camanche. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Turner, Michael Handley, Zach Feller, Karissa Handley, Kiana Feller, and Jerry Feller. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Declan Handley, Arlo Handley, Lewis Handley, and Cash Feller. Visitation will be from 9:30am to the service time at the funeral home on Thursday.
Kay Frances Lauritsen was born on August 6, 1946, in Estherville, Iowa the daughter of Glenn and Esther (Zitterich) Lauritsen. She was a graduate of Estherville High School. She married Dr. Frank B. Rogers on June 18, 2005; he preceded her in death on August 10, 2005.
Kay was a physical therapy technician for over 15 years before retiring. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church – Clinton. Having a big heart, she will be remembered for helping and caring for anyone she knew. She loved all animals and was not afraid to nurse a many back to health. She was a blue-ribbon winner with Satchmo and Wolfgang agility dogs. She was very artistic and loved to decorate helping set-up her daughter’s classroom, and making every holiday memorable and unforgettable.
Kay lived alone in her cabin in the woods with her wolfdog. Her daughter would often tease and call her Little Red Riding Hood. Kay’s motto was “even bad wolves can be good,” and this was her belief with everyone.
Kay is survived by her daughter: Kayleen (Chris) Turner of Camanche; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Karissa (Michael) Handley of Camanche; Declan, Arlo, Lewis, and Isla Kay; and Kiana (Zach) Feller of Camanche; Cash. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; and sister: Jo Hibbing.
