Karin K (Waldorf) Applegate Rhodes' Obituary
Karin Kay (Waldorf) Applegate Rhodes, 50, of Clinton passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center-Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Friday, November 25, 2022 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Karin Kay Waldorf was born June 21, 1972 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Bob and Ethel (White) Waldorf. She attended Elijah Buell and Goose Lake Elementary schools and graduated from Clinton High School in 1990. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband Mark Applegate; children: Robert and Austin Adams and Marcus and Brandon Norem; step-children: Janice Stiers and Aaron Applegate; several grandchildren; her mother Ethel Waldorf of Clinton; brothers: Steve (Ellen) Waldorf, Mark (Brenda) Waldorf and David (Sheila) Waldorf; and mother-in-law Carol Applegate.
Karin was a caring, loving and outgoing person. She loved animals, especially horses, dogs and cats. She enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, music, football games and good friends. She was a Red Cross volunteer and volunteered during hurricane Katrina and other disasters in Florida.
She was employed by Swiss Colony, telemarketing and transportation and did detailing work.
Karin was preceded in death by her daughter Angela Kay, father Bob Waldorf, her aunt, uncle and cousin: Joe and Judy Waldorf and Cathy Ahlgren; uncle Charles White and her grandparents Charles and Geraldine White and Frank and Margaret Waldorf.
