June Sheller's Obituary
June A. Sheller, 84, of Clinton died Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Mercy Living Center North. Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, October 14, 2011 at Chancy Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00am until the service hour at the church. Cremation rites will follow the funeral service. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory assisted the family with the arrangements. June Alva Swanson was born on June 13, 1927 in Clinton, the daughter of John and Queenie (Donmeyer) Swanson. She was a 1945 graduate of Clinton High School. She married Arthur Paul Sheller on February 22, 1947 in Iowa City, IA; he died on February 1, 2011. June was a homemaker. She also worked for several years as a cook at Gateway Jr. High School and later as an administrative assistant at Nielsen’s. She was a lifelong member of Chancy Lutheran Church. June loved to cook for her family, was an avid baker and loved to sing but her favorite moments were those spent with her siblings, children and grandchildren. Childhood memories of Grandma June for all of her children and grandchildren included being rocked to sleep with lullabies, warm treats and cookies from the oven, swinging at Chancy Park, and an undying willingness to sacrifice for others. Survivors include four children: Linda (Terry) Huffman of Andover, NJ, Steven (Ann) Sheller of Clinton, Jane (formerly Meyer) Sheller of West Branch, IA and Scott (Patti) Sheller of Mason City, IA; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Barb (Jack) Utroska of Clinton and Shirley Sykes of Jacksonville, FL and one brother: Jim (Ev) Swanson of Mountain Home, AK. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers, 6 sisters and one grandson: Morgan Meyer. Memorials may be made to the family.
