June J. Newman, 87, of Clinton, IA, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation in Clinton, IA. Services will be held at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig on Monday, June 16, 2008 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Mark Dann, Scott Schlotfeldt, Nathaniel Hege, Jim Belcher, Mike Newman, and Martin Newman. June Crigger was born on December 16, 1920 in Ennis, WV, the daughter of Joe and Rebecca (Mitchell) Crigger. She married Woodrow Newman on June 6, 1945 in Welch, WVA; he died on September 18, 1982. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the Eagles Club, and a former member of the Moose Auxiliary. She had been employed at Dairy Pak as an inspector for several years. Survivors include her daughter, Opal (James) Belcher of Bluefield, WVA; Sandra (Merritt) Dann of Thomson, IL; Wanda (Nick) Schlotfeldt of Clinton, IA; Deb (John) Meurs of Fulton, IL; Son, Woodrow "Ben" (Paula) Newman of Clinton, IA; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, William (Joyce) Crigger of Clinton, and one special nephew Bob and his wife Beulah Thomas of Dayton, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one grandson, one great-granddaughter, 3 sisters and 9 brothers.
