Julia B. Hayes, 86, of Clinton died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Alverno Healthcare Facility. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Catholic Church of the Visitation in Camanche. Visitation will be from 4-7:00pm Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Camanche. Pallbearers will be grandsons Eric, Justin, Michael and Bill Hayes, and Donald and Andrea Williamson. Julia was born on April 9, 1923 in Canton, OH, the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (Malloy) Ballou. She graduated from St. John's High School in Canton in 1941. She married Robert (Bob) Hayes on October 4, 1947 in Canton; he died on March 8, 2007. Julia was a homemaker. She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Visitation, and the Alter and Rosary society. She is survived by 4 sons: Phillip (Mary) Hayes of Clinton, Robert (Debbie) Hayes of Navarre, OH, Bill Hayes of Sebring, OH, and Michael (Sandra) Hayes of Clinton; one daughter, Barbara (Jon) Fry of East Sparta, OH; one son-in-law, Chuck Hellweg of Camanche; 25 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Joseph Ballou of Reno, NV and Arthur (Joann) Ballou of Canton, OH; 3 sisters: Margaret Ann Fisher of Canton, OH, Emma Schumacher of Canton, OH, and Mary Eileen(Don) Hoot of Navarre, OH. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Nancy Hellweg, 2 grandchildren, and 3 sisters. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
