Judy A. Carstensen's Obituary
Judy A. Carstensen, 76, of Clinton, passed away, Sunday, November 24, 2024 at her home.
Memorial Services will be 11:00am, Monday, December 2, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church – Clinton. Visitation will be from 9:00am to the service time Monday at the church. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Judy Ann Senior was born on November 18, 1948 in Morrison, Illinois, the daughter of Harvey and Lena (Boelkens) Senior. She was a 1966 graduate of Fulton High School and received degrees from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA and St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA. She married Phillip “Skip” Carstensen on January 2, 1976 in Clinton.
Judy was a teacher at the Clinton Community School District for 28 years before retiring in 2013. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church. a long time member of the Clinton Women's Club the Clinton Library Board, and remained an active volunteer in the community. Judy enjoyed traveling, especially out west, where she loved visiting Echo Lake in Colorado. She was a passionate Iowa Hawkeyes football fan and attended every home game for 25 years. A proud grandma, Judy attended numerous softball, soccer, football, basketball, and baseball games to support her grandchildren. She was also a talented gardener and was proud of her gardens and water features in her backyard.
Judy is survived by her husband Skip of Clinton; her son Christopher (Jenifer) Carstensen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, her daughter Kristina (Matt) Kain of Arvada, Colorado; four grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Maya, Cooper, and Mason; and her two brothers: Larry (Sandy) Senior of Fulton, and Bill (Alice) Senior of Morrison; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew: Brent Senior.
Memorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Judy's honor.
