Joyce A. Van Verth's Obituary
Joyce A. Van Verth, 86, of Clinton passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Eagle Point Health Care Facility in Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, March 19, 2026 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Ryan, Dakota Ebensberger, Devin Chambers, Austin Binnie, Blayke Wiederin and Alexander Binnie. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service time at the funeral home.
Joyce Ann Van Verth was born October 15, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Adrian Joseph and Margaret (Byam) Van Verth. She attended St. Mary’s High School and graduated from Clinton High School in 1957. She studied to be a secretary at Mt. Saint Clare. She married John Phillips on May 29, 1981 in Rockport, Texas; he preceded her in death on January 10, 1999.
Joyce was a homemaker and enjoyed watching NASCAR and was an avid fan of the Notre Dame Irish. She enjoyed time spent with her family.
She is survived by her children: Bambila (Felipe) Cruz of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Patrick Johnson of Clinton, Kristal (Shane House) Jones of Sharps Chapel, Tennessee, Ronda (Chad) Gravert of Clinton, John Robert Phillips of Texas and Dawn (Scott) Salser of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; 14 grandchildren: Lisa Mussmann, Ruby Thomas, Raymond Giacchetti, David Giacchetti, Austin Binnie, Alexander Binnie, Ashlee Jones, Ausha Wiederin, Micki Ryan, Devin Chambers, Jake Kerkove, Jr., Cebastione Bailey, Ezekiel Salser and Willow Salser; 21 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Dominic James Matje.
