Joyce Carole Ewalt's Obituary
Joyce Carole Ewalt, 88, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at her home.
Joyce Carole Leonard was born May 20, 1934 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Lemma (Miller) Leonard. She had married Roy Ewalt in 1952 in; he died June 29, 1996. She was a Clinton High School graduate and continued her career in life as a full time mother of seven children and was employed as Head Dietary Aid with Alverno Health Care for over 16 years.
In life what Joyce enjoyed most was family time, traveling, making friends and helping people. In her free time she volunteered her services through church, online and local community support. She will be remembered as a selfless person in how she touched every individual’s life differently. Family; as a selfless, strong, independent, loving person, and rock of support. Friends; as the women who motivated them to make positive changes, keep moving forward in life, and the sweet lady who made all them homemade goodies that everyone so much enjoyed.
Joyce was survived in life by her children Roilynn Shady of Clinton, IA; Rodney (Pam) Ewalt of Muscatine, IA; Royce Ewalt (Ali) of Clinton,IA; Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; brother Floyd (Ruth) Leonard, Jr. of Princeton, IA and her bestest friend & Lifesister-in-law Nelly Leonard of Clinton.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Floyd & Lemma Leonard; Husband Roy Ewalt Jr.; Childern Ricky Dean Ewalt, Robin Wagner, Ronda Kimmer, Ronald Ewalt; Brothers Dale & Lawrence (uncle Punk)Leonard.
A Celebration of her life is being planned for Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the Low Moor Community Center, Low Moor, IA from Noon - 7PM. Anyone that knew Joyce is invited to join the family. Online condolences may also be expressed by visiting snellzornig.com. Snell-Zornig assisted the family greatly with arrangements.
Joyce’s favorite charity was St. Jude’s Children's Hospital and her wishes would be for any donations to be made directly to them in support and help of others.
