John Paschen's Obituary
John “Jack” J. Paschen, 81, of Camanche, died Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center- North Campus. Private Family Services will be Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the Catholic Church of the Visitation in Camanche with Father Richard Okumu officiating. Burial will be in the Shafton Cemetery. The Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. John Joseph Paschen was born on February 23, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Lillian (Kersten) Paschen. He married Ann Kane on July 26, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. John graduated from Mundelein High School in 1945 while serving in World War II in the United States Navy as air crewman from 1944 to 1946. John was a traffic clerk for Carstensen Freight Lines for 34 years, retiring in 1992. John was a member of the Church of the Visitation in Camanche, he enjoyed spending time with his family, was an avid fisherman, and loved painting in his free time. John is survived by his loving wife of 61 years: Ann Paschen of Camanche, Iowa; four daughters: Nancy Delaney of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Janice (Richard) Flood of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Pamela (Bill) VanOverloop of Camanche, Iowa, Michele (Jim) Case of Camanche, Iowa; and two sons Dr. John (Cynthia) Paschen of Ames, Iowa, and Christopher (Lynn) Paschen of San Francisco, California; and eight grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents, and his three brothers. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Catholic Church of the Visitation.
