John L. Ostert, 70, of Waterloo, Iowa, formerly of Oelwein, Iowa passed away Friday, September 30, 2022 in Waterloo, Iowa.
Private Family Services will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at the Rock Island Arsenal. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
John Lawrence Ostert was born on April 12, 1952 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Robert and Glatha (Sidwell) Ostert. He was a 1970 graduate of Clinton High School. He later served in the United States Navy from 1971-1975.
John was a welder in Oelwein for many years.
John is survived by his siblings: Marilyn (Bill) Heiar of Charlotte, Iowa, Carolyn (David) Livingston of Clinton, Rosalie Thomas of Laguna Vista, Texas, Pamela (Dennis) Naeve of Andover, Iowa, Cheryl (Eric) Schneck of Sun City, Arizona, and Gwen Ostert of Ocala, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
