I was unaware that uncle Jax had passed away until after receiving a Christmas card from Jax's surviving brother, my uncle Billy.

Jax was such a character. He came out to my husband John's car shop with an older car that he wanted some work done on. He said other shops had turned him away. Some times people blow off the older folks. We didnt know Jax,he just happened in one day, John really didnt do outside work but he listened and helped Jax with his car. Jax would work on it in an empty part of the shop and John would offer advice, lend him tools. He was really spry. Big grin on his face. Thats how we will remember him.

Jax will be missed by the Leavens family. He was interesting, pleasant, trustworthy, and full of stories. We will miss ya, even our crazy animals! RIP.

Jax was a special neighbor to my daughter and her children. He was there 15 years ago when they bought the house next to him and was very neighborly from the get go. He ended up being more than just a neighbor to them, he became their friend and like part of the family. Was nice to stop and have Jax walk over to the fence and visit with my husband and myself. I can still picture him standing there watching the grandkids on their trampoline with a smile on his face and he would laugh and say that was the best thing they could of every received for all the fun and exercise they had on it. Jax saw all 3 of the grandkids from babies on up and always took the time to talk to them and ask them how their day was going so words can not express how much his kindness will be missed by all of them. Will be sadly missed by all.
I'm at a complete loss of words...Jax has been my neighbor for 16 years.. He's been our Grandpa..even though we are not blood related, he's family by choice.. We're sure going to miss him..and our daily conversations over the fence..he was always putting "gifts" on our porch for us and pretended like he had no idea where they came from..he's never forgotten a birthday and always wrote such inspirational messages for us...he's had a very full and adventurous life...Rest in Peace Jax.always in our hearts.
