Joanne E. Shields' Obituary
Joanne E. Shields, 77, of Clinton, passed away peacefully at home following a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.

Joanne Ellen Ray was born on June 30, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of LeRoy and Ella (Teshak) Ray. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Angels Academy and later received her Masters of Art Education from Marycrest. She married Lester Shields on June 11, 1994 in Clinton.
Joanne was a teacher for 25 plus years teaching in Sabula, Clinton, and the last 20 years in Camanche retiring in 2001. Joanne taught her family how to live, how to love, and in the end, how to die.
Joanne enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of a bridge club for 50 plus years. She also enjoyed playing Yahtzee and Trivial Pursuit with her husband.
Joanne is survived by her husband: Les of Clinton; her children: Jennifer (Curt) Locey, Julie (Matt) Wolfe, Rebecca (Bryan) Buhman, and Brian Shields; grandchildren: Mackenzie (James) Lloyd, Alexander Locey, Lauren Wolfe, Clarah Buhman, and Lucas Wolfe; and her siblings: Martin (Linda) Ray, and Priscilla (Dennis) Martindale. She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant son. Memorials can be made to the Scott County Special Olympics – 18 Oakbrook Place – Bettendorf, IA 52722.
