Joanna R. Lessar's Obituary
Joanna R. Lessar, 87, of Clinton, passed away, Saturday at Aspire of Pleasant Valey – Pleasant Valley, Iowa.
Private burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. The Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family.
Joanna Ruth Hill was born on July 12, 1935, in Anna, Illinois, the daughter of John and Ruth (Brimm) Hill. She married Donald Lessar in May of 1952; he died November 30, 2014.
Joanna had worked as a bookkeeper and secretary. She loved to travel and had the opportunity to visit China with her daughter Lisa. The greatest joys were her family and pets, but most of all was her love of her Lord and Savior Jesus.
Joanna is survived by two daughters: Terri (Jim) Weber of Chanhassen, Minnesota; Lisa (Jim) Law of Clinton; two grandchildren: Jennifer (Brian) Naslund, and Jamie (Nick) Larsen; seven great-grandchildren; Isabelle, Mason, Noah, Alivia, Amelia, Jameson, and Jude; two sisters: Pearl Douglas of Wesley Chapel, Florida, and Frances (Phil) Lewis of Decatur, Alabama. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law: Steven Steen, one sister, and two brother-in-laws.
