JoAnn Platter's Obituary
B. JoAnn Platter, 79, of Clinton, IA, died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Bluff Terrace Nursing Home in Clinton, IA. Services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church on Monday, May 19, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, May 18, 2008 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Burial will be at National Cemetery, in Rock Island, IL. She was born on June 7, 1928, in Boone, IA, the daughter of Fred and Roberta (Gould) Anderson. JoAnn was a Boone Iowa High School graduate, received her AA from Clinton Community College and majored in Social Work at Marycrest College, Davenport. She married James B. Platter in Boone, Iowa on December 31, 1947. JoAnn was employed as a Real Estate Broker for 25 years and retired from Iowa East Central T.R.A.I.N. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and the National Board of Realtors. She was a volunteer with Mercy Auxiliary and she enjoyed bridge. Survivors include her husband, James B. Platter of Clinton, IA; sons, James Robert (Darlene) Platter of Lakeland, FL; and Curtis Alan (Karen) Platter of Clinton, IA; her daughter, Melinda L (Grover) Cave of Davis Junction, IL; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; and her sister, Beverly Jean Jones of Harlingen, Texas.
