Joan L Parker's Obituary
Joan L. Parker, 93, of Camanche passed away, December 15, 2023 at Senior Star Senior Living Community in Davenport, Iowa.
A Funeral Mass will be 11:00am, Friday, December 22, 2023 at the Church of the Visitation – Camanche. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Meredith Mercer, Madeline Obren, Caleb Dirks, Nick Sorensen, Matt Mercer, and Nick Obren. Visitation will be from 9:30am to the service time at the church. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory is honored to serve the Parker family.
Joan L. Killean was born on June 27, 1930 in Clinton, the daughter of John and Myrtle (Eliason) Killean. She was a graduate of Clinton High School in 1948. She married Donald E. Parker on September 3, 1949 in Clinton; he passed away November 11, 2014.
Joan worked for several years at 1st Gateway Credit Union until her retirement. She was a member of the Church of the Visitation. Joan was very proud of her family and was especially fond of her great grandchildren who called her “GiGi.” She enjoyed being a part of the Senior Star family and made many friends while she was there. Joan and her family appreciate the support given to her during her final days by the staff at Senior Star and the Hospice staff from Genesis.
Joan is survived by her two sons: Thomas (Lisa) Parker of Camanche and James (Kerry) Parker of Santa Barbara, California and five grandchildren: Alisha (Caleb) Dirks, Clairissa (Nick) Sorensen, Reid Parker, Meredith (Matt) Mercer, and Madeline (Nick) Obren; and eight great-grandchildren
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers.
