Joan C. Naftzger's Obituary
Joan Naftzger, 92 passed away peacefully this week at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton, IL
Born on April 16, 1928 in Clinton lowa to Elsie (Luth) and Raymond Boyd, she married Vernon (Dutch) Naftzger on May 28, 1954. He proceeded her in death in 2001. Joan was also proceeded in death by her parents and one sister, Marilyn Boyd. Survivors include son Jay (Dee) Naftzger of Scottsdale AZ; daughters Gail (Ted) Boerema of Ocala FL; Sandra (Ray) Thompson of Ocala FL; and Julie (Henry) Luchtefeld of Morton, IL. She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Joan lived the first 80 years of her life in Clinton, Iowa. She was a lifelong member, elder and deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Clinton, a lifetime member of The Order of Eastern Star #85; a longtime member of the Albany, IL American Legion Auxiliary, Albany, Illinois, where her husband, Dutch, was a charter member; and Joan worked 17 years in the admitting office of Mercy Medical.
Grave side services will be 11:00 am, May 15, 2021 at Lusk Cemetery, followed by burial at Lusk Cemetery, Albany, Illinois. Snell Zornig Funeral Home is assisting the family.
