Joan A Muhs' Obituary
Joan A. Muhs, 91, of Clinton, formerly of Birmingham, Iowa, passed away, Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the Alverno.
A visitation will be Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 10:00-Noon at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.
Joan Audrey Newman was born on July 2, 1933 St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of George and Magdalena (Burmeister) Newman. She married Arthur Gray and later married LaVerne Muhs.
Joan spent the majority of her life as a farmwife, but at the age of 81 moved in with her daughter and became an avid sports fan, notably of the Iowa State Cyclones. She enjoyed playing bridge in clubs around Clinton, scouring for produce at the local farmers market, perusing the library, and attending concerts of the Clinton Symphony.
Joan is survived by her daughter: Cindy Gray-Kaim; grandson: Matt Gray; step-children: Steve Muhs, Jeff (Martha) Muhs, Debbie Carruthers, Becky (Kelly) Blair, Jacque (Dave) Nyenhuis, and Denver (Lisa) Muhs; 10 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to the Clinton Symphony Orchestra or the Camanche Library.
