Jimmy Harbron's Obituary
Jimmy L. Harbron, 78, of Clinton, IA, died Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Mercy Living Center - South in Clinton, IA. Services will be held at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, December 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig on Sunday, November 30, 2008 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Dierksen, Richard Dierksen, Terry Dierksen, Ron Dierksen, Christopher Taplin and Dennis Taplin. Jimmy was born on June 10, 1930, in Clinton, IA, the son of Lyle L. and Clara (Handy) Harbron. He was a 1950 Clinton High graduate. Jimmy was a US Army Korean War veteran. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, cocktails at Bonnie's Tap and especially spending time with his family. He married Patsy Taplin on November 12, 1955 in Miles, Iowa; she died June 25, 2004. He was employed as a supervisor at Dairy Pak for more than 40 years before retiring in 1992. Survivors include his son, Jay (Kathy) Harbron of Fulton, IL; daughter, Cindy (Dave) Young of Clinton, IA; grandchildren, Tina (Gunnar) Evans and their children Tarah and Masen of Machesney Park, IL and Cassandra and Adam Young of Clinton; sisters-n-law, Lola (Carl) Machande of Deming, NM; Arlene Dierksen of Clinton; and Judy Taplin of Clinton; brothers-in-law Gary (Cheryl) Taplin of Bryant and Dennis (Diane) Taplin of Bryant; many nieces and nephews; and his ladies from 3rd floor, Mercy Living Center South and the Dialysis unit. In addition to his wife his parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and a brother-in-law preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to Mercy Dialysis or Mercy Living Center South.
