Jim McGrogan's Obituary
Harry “Jim” McGrogan, 70, of Camanche, died Sunday, August 2, 2009 at his home. Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Camanche. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-8:00pm at the church. The Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Harry James McGrogan was born on May 17, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Harry L. and Dorothy (Nissen) McGrogan. He married Ruth Ann Edens on December 27, 1960 in Camanche. He was employed as a truck driver for many years retiring in 2002 from Determann Industries. Since his retirement he has driven the school bus for the Camanche Schools. He enjoyed spending time with his family and driving the Camanche School bus. He was a member of the Camanche Kiwanis Club and a associate member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Camanche. He is survived by his wife: Ruth Ann of Camanche; two sons: Jim (Barb) McGrogan of Clinton and Jack McGrogan of Clinton; two daughters: Jayne (Bob) Stenulson of Camanche and Janell (Matt) Matyasse of Camanche; four grandchildren: Kaycee, Kodee, Madeline, and Jenae, and four great-grandchildren: Bentley, Hailey, Keenan, and Daniel; and his two sisters: Patricia Friis and Mary Jacobs of Camanche. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister. Memorials can be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
