Brad Smith
I hope this message reaches a member of Jerry's family. I remember him well back 2006-08 when he used to run loads to the UPS Air Cargo facility in Rockford, IL. (Where I'm from.) I was the security guard at the gate back then. Jerry was among a small group of us that ordered food on Fri. nights from a local Italian restaurant (Sam's Pizza). We used to hang-out at the guard booth and tell stories. He sold me a handheld CB radio, which I still have. I am very glad to have gotten to know him. (This was right before UPS got rid of all the vendor truck companies and started doing most of the loads in-house.) So, I caught the tail-end of a good-time. I will never forget Jerry and all the great times and good laughs we had together that made working late at night that much more livable. I just wanted to share that story & am truly sorry to hear of his passing. R.I.P. Jerry and God Speed! Also, my sincerest condolences to the family. ~Brad Smith of Rockford, IL
