Jeffrey Determann's Obituary
Jeffrey Martin Determann, 39, of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, surrounded by many of his loving friends and family.
A celebration of Jeff’s life — and what would have been his 40th birthday — is being planned at Great Revivalist Brewery beginning at 4:00pm on Friday, August 1, 2025. Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory – Clinton is assisting the family. Online condolences may be shared by visiting www.snellzornig.com.
Jeff was born on August 1, 1985, in Clinton, Iowa, the beloved son of David and Martha (Parker) Determann. A 2004 graduate of Clinton High School, Jeff later earned a degree in Business Communications from the University of Iowa, where his love and passion for the Hawkeyes only grew stronger.
He was currently working as a Project Management & Business Operations Specialist at the Rock Island Arsenal, employed as an Army contractor with Nexagen.
A true Green Bay Packers and Iowa Hawkeyes fan, Jeff brought passion and energy to every game day. His deep love of music meant there was always a song to share, or a concert to look forward to. Whether spending time with friends, supporting family, or lighting up a room with laughter, Jeff was known by all who met him as someone who was easy to love — kind, quick to help, and always up for fun.
Jeff is survived and lovingly remembered by his mother and stepfather, Martha and Richard Jacobs of Clinton; his father, David Determann of Clinton; his brother, Forrest Determann of Des Moines; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who felt like family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: William Parker, Barbara (Parker) Rich, and Andrew & Grace Determann.
Jeff’s joy for life, generous heart, and unforgettable spirit leave a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Though his time here was far too short, the love he shared will live on in the stories we tell, the music we play, and the laughter we continue in his name.
Memorials can be made in Jeff’s honor to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, whose care and compassion during his final days meant the world to his family.
